Britain, land and ocean
A program designed to explore Brittany, a predominantly maritime region surrounded by the powerful Atlantic Ocean and home to some of the world's largest tides. An extensive network of coastal paths will allow us to discover on foot some of the most beautiful and iconic spots in this land of legends. Our trip is based around three accommodations: two in the south of the region and one in the north.
We begin in Belle-Île-en-Mer, the largest and one of the most beautiful islands in Brittany. Located in the Gulf of Morbihan and bathed by the Gulf Stream, it is known for its milder climate and its coastal path that winds through small villages with colorful houses and past coves and rock formations such as the famous Pointe des Poulins.
Our second destination is the Crozon peninsula, between the bay of Douarnenez and the gulf of Brest, with its capes and rocky points that penetrate the wild and feared sea of Brittany, creating some of the most beautiful landscapes.
After Crozon, we'll cross Brittany north to reach our third accommodation on the Pink Granite Coast. Near Saint Brieuc, several small villages overlook the sea, sheltered by the rugged granite coastline, which offers a striking contrast of colors between the pink rock and the sea.

PROGRAM
Day 1. Arrival in Nantes, drive to Quiberon and ferry to Belle-Île-en-mer
We arriveat Nantes airport. The group is met by the guide, and we depart in a van—which we will use for the next few days—towards the Quiberon peninsula in the Gulf of Morbihan. From there, a 50-minute ferry ride takes us to Belle Île-en-Mer, the largest of the Breton islands. The ferry drops us off in the island's small capital (Le Palais), and we settle into our hotel for two nights.
Dinner and overnight stay at the "La Desirade" hotel or similar
Day 2. From Port Coton to Pointe des Poulins. First stage of the Belle-Île-en-mer coastal path.
Our first hike of the trip takes us along the island's west coast. We begin in Port Coton, one of Belle Île's prettiest villages, with its rocky pyramid that inspired Claude Monet to paint several of his works during his time on the island, and continue north. Several beaches, hundreds of meters of sand, punctuate our route, where the trail winds up and down along the small cliffs. At the end of the day, we reach Sarah Bernhardt's Fort, the artist's home in the late 19th century. We also visit the famous and photogenic Pointe des Poulins. From there, we return to our accommodation via a short transfer.
Possibility of swimming in the sea.
16 km – 5h10 walking time – 260 m of positive and negative elevation gain
Dinner and second night at the "La Desirade" hotel.
Day 3. From the « Pointe des Poulins » to Le Palais. Second stage of the coastal path of Belle-île-en-mer.
From the double beach of Les Poulins, where we finished our hike yesterday, the path follows the sea to the long fjord that shelters the port and village of Sauzon. In this small village, we stopped for lunch (the crepes at one of the restaurants were delicious) and admired the fishing boats that, at low tide, rest on the seabed! The path continues into the late afternoon, and after passing some beautiful coves, we arrive at Le Palais, the island's capital with its 2,600 inhabitants. We walk beneath the imposing citadel and finish our hike at the port. From here, the ferry takes us back to the mainland, and we head towards Pont-Aven, one of the prettiest towns on the south coast of Brittany. Overnight in a hotel in Pont-Aven.
Picnic included
15 km – 5h of walking – 240 m of positive and negative elevation gain
Day 4. Walk in Pont-Aven, the village of the painters and transfer to the Crozon peninsula
Today, our destination is Crozon, where we will spend two nights, but before leaving Pont Aven, we will take a walking tour of its small port and the estuary that welcomes it, where several bridges and mills cross the Aven River and the old town, among gardens and narrow streets, offers us a charming stroll.
We then continue to Crozon, also located in the Finistère department of Brittany. A walking route along the peninsula of the same name will allow us to discover the cliffs of Cap de la Chèvre and the viewpoints overlooking Douarnenez and the famous and wild Pointe du Raz, located on the other side of the bay. Overnight in a hotel in the port of Morgat (Crozon)
Between 1 and 2 hours of walking in Pont Aven and 3 hours of walking in Crozon
10 km – 3h – 150m of negative and positive elevation change
DAY 5. Crozon Peninsula. From the Pointe de Dinan to Camaret via the Pointe de Pen Hir. And visit of the Pointe des Espagnols. The alignment of the Lagatjar Menhirs.
A short transfer takes us to Pointe de Dinan. From here, we follow the Finistère coast towards the large Kersiguénou beach, which we cross. Always following the coastal path, we head towards Pointe de Pen Hir, which we can see to the north. Its cliffs, over 70 meters high, plunge into the sea in a series of small islands that the Bretons call the "chickpea piles" :-) We continue north and pass by the Battle of the Atlantic Memorial Museum before briefly leaving the coastal path to visit one of the largest alignments of standing stones in Brittany. Some 70 menhirs form the Lagatjar megalithic group and date from the late Neolithic period
Our last part of the route takes us past Pointe du Toulinguet before arriving at the village of Camaret-sur-Mer where we finish today's walk.
A transfer takes us back to the hotel, but before that, we'll stop at Pointe des Espagnols to admire the view from this northern cape of Crozon, overlooking the entire great bay of Brest and also the city of Brest, located very close to the point itself.
Second night at the Morgat port hotel
16 km – 4h30 walking – 230 m of positive and negative elevation change.
DAY 6. Transfer to the Pink Granite Coast and hiking in Perros-Girec
After breakfast at the hotel, we left the Finistère region and drove north through Brittany towards the pink granite coast of the Côtes d'Armoire. We arrived at our new accommodation around lunchtime and had the afternoon to explore the small Renote peninsula and its beautiful landscapes. First night at the hotel in Perros-Girec.
8 km – 2h30 walking time – 70 m elevation gain
DAY 7 Ploumanac'h - Port Blanc. One of the most beautiful trails in Brittany
The coastal path from Ploumanac'h to Perros-Guirec, adorned with countless pink granite boulders rounded by erosion, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful trails in Brittany. The route then continues towards Louannec and Trestel before stopping in the charming coastal village of Port Blanc. After completing the hike, we head towards Nantes to be near the airport tomorrow. Overnight in the vibrant city of Nantes.
19 km – 5h30 walking time – 230 m of positive and negative elevation gain
