Canary Islands, Gran Canaria, sharp peaks and Canarian sweetness.
Gran Canaria is an island of stunning landscapes, made up of jagged volcanic mountains covered in pine forests and deep valleys that cradle elegant villages surrounded by palm groves. The gentle air invites us to stroll, and the cheerful nature of its inhabitants welcomes us during this week between the mountains and the sea.

Dinner and accommodation in Tejeda, in a family-run hotel.

LUGAREJOS CIRCUIT VIA TAMADABA
One of the most beautiful hikes on the island, located near Artenara, the highest town in Gran Canaria. The route first takes you past traditional villages (troglodyte dwellings that are always inhabited) before passing the Lugarejos reservoir and then following a ridge through the Tamadaba forest. On clear days, the views are exceptional throughout the entire hike.
4h30 walking time - 650m ascent and 650m descent
-
THE CIRCLE OF ROQUE NUBLO.
A magnificent hike around the island's iconic natural monument: Roque Nublo. This hike, following mainly well-maintained and well-marked "Caminos Reales"—old public roads—passes through the traditional rural village of La Culata before climbing through the forest to the Roque Nublo plateau. The descent is along a beautiful path offering stunning views to the southwest.
5h00 hike - 700m uphill and 700m downhill.
-
Pico de las Nieves: the highest peak on the island.
A magnificent loop hike through beautiful Canary pine forests in the upper reaches of the island. We reach Pico de las Nieves at 1949m and enjoy its magnificent views before descending along a trail that hugs the ridges. Breathtaking views across the entire east and south of the island. After the hike, we descend to our next drop-off point in the municipality of San Bartolomé. Overnight stay in a 4-star hotel with superb views.
4h30 walking time - 550m ascent and 550m descent
-
SANTA LUCÍA LOOP.
Very close to San Bartolomé, this small village is one of our favorites in Gran Canaria. Its flower-lined streets and neat houses, as well as its plaza and gardens, invite you to stroll and welcome you at the beginning and end of our itinerary. The trail connects several villages and palm groves. Lunch on the terrace of a restaurant with a Canarian atmosphere, and then the return to Santa Lucía via a different route.
3h30 walking - 350m riding and 350m downhill
-
TAURUS LOOP
A beautiful route offering magnificent views for most of the way. As you walk, the entire south of the island comes into view, especially from Las Lapas and Monte Tauro. The route begins and ends near the small Salto del Perro dam and is a must-do in the south of the island.
4h10 walking time - 500m ascent and 500m descent
-
COASTAL BEACH WALK OF THE VILLAGE
A footpath connects Playa de la Aldea in an interesting loop with a magnificent viewpoint overlooking the west coast and the beautiful, wild cove known as Playa del Puerto. Swimming is possible. Dinner is not included.
3h00 walk - 300m uphill and 300m downhill
-
TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT VIA THE BEAUTIFUL NORTHWEST COAST HIGHWAY.
Depending on the flight departure time, we will visit the charming city of Las Palmas, the island's capital, before leaving.
